NEW SKILLS PUT TO WORK…

Gary Johnson is currently working with the gardens and maintenance team at RDHS on a school based apprenticeship two days a week.

So when we removed the tables out of the town view room at our Riverside Campus, an opportunity came up to show Gary how to refurbish the two old tables that had seen better days.

Peter Rickard – Manager Supplies and Maintenance was able to show Gary and Zzak Togo,  who this year completed his Certificate III in Parks and Gardens, how to do this as he felt that it needed to be passed on to staff working within the maintenance department and it has become a bit of a dying art  .  The photos show Gary doing the second table on his own, which has given him a real sense of achievement.

The tables will go back into service for use in another area saving an added cost for extra tables.
