About the Role
As a Diversional Therapist, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering a diverse range of recreational, social, cultural, and therapeutic activities that enhance the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of our residents. You will work collaboratively with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure activities are meaningful, inclusive, and tailored to individual interests and abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lifestyle and leisure programs for residents.
- Conduct assessments and contribute to the development and review of individual care plans.
- Facilitate group and one-on-one activities that promote social connection, independence, and wellbeing.
- Encourage resident participation and support consumer choice and dignity.
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, families, and community groups to enhance the lifestyle program.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with relevant aged care standards and organisational policies.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A qualification in Diversional Therapy, Leisure and Health, Recreational Therapy, Lifestyle and Leisure, or a related field.
- Experience working in aged care, health care, or community services (desirable).
- A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older people.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- A current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
