An exciting opportunity exists for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) who is empathetic, enthusiastic and compassionate, to join our professional clinical team. The applicant must have clinical experience with proven leadership ability and an understanding of the accreditation standards. You will have the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to the ongoing support and pursuit of continuous quality improvement, maximising the safety of residents, patients & staff, along with developing your own professional skill set with excellent clinical assessments and education available. In this role you will enjoy great support from a team of caregivers who consistently provide person centred care through effective leadership and evidence based practice.

  • Proven management ability
  • Experience in staff management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
  • Aptitude for clinical teaching
  • Sound clinical knowledge, willingness to learn
  • Understanding of the National Standards and Aged Care Standards
  • Flexibility, a positive attitude and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus to person centred care

  • Commitment to best practice, ethical behaviour and conduct
  • Comply with regulatory requirements of relevance including RDHS policies and procedures/guidelines.

  • Ensure Infection Control guidelines are fully implemented
  • Demonstrate awareness and understanding of diversity and culture.
  • Work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager/DON in developing improved processes and work practices.
  • Ensure current competency standards for Nursing and Aged Care practices are implemented and maintained.
  • Actively participate in the annual performance appraisal process.
  • Liaise with relevant members of the senior management team for advice and guidance as required.
  • Continually develop and improve clinical documentation which can demonstrate measurable outcomes for individual clients.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records for all acute and aged care clients.
  • Promote evidence-based practice & research at every opportunity.
  • Advocate for staff & clients, ensuring legal and ethical standards are maintained.
  • Conduct duties as directed.
  • Assist the management team of RDHS to develop strategies and opportunities for service enhancement and development.
  • Provide leadership, support & direction to all junior members of the Acute & Aged Services team.
  • Participate in RDHS training programmes and provide feedback as required.
  • Actively participate in the Clinical Risk Management Program.

Applicants require current unrestricted AHPRA registration, and Working Rights Visa status or Permanent Residency.
